FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
WILL I ACTUALLY BE LOCKED INSIDE OF A ROOM?
While it sounds like fun, our lawyers tell us we are not allowed to actually lock people into rooms. So often there are other objectives that you will be searching for or tasks that you are trying to complete. You can come and go at any point in the game, so if that first date isn't going so well we have your back!
WILL I BE IN A ROOM WITH PEOPLE I DON’T KNOW?
We are escape room players just like you. We find usually we prefer to know who will be in the room with us, so all of our games remain private. This means that you will only be in a room with people that you already know. Most of our rooms accommodate groups of 2-8 people. If your group is larger, or if you need to create two bookings for the same group please call us directly and we can assist you with the booking.
ARE ALL ROOMS SUITABLE FOR CHILDREN?
Yes, in most situations. Some of our rooms do have low lighting with some special effects that could frighten small children, furry animals, and Grandma Sue. Rooms are purposely designed to be challenging, so some of our younger participates may struggle to complete or understand puzzles. However sometimes the children see answers that mom and dad have missed. Children from ages 6-13 are encouraged to participate but must be accompanied by an adult.
Are cell phones allowed in the rooms?
Please feel free to take videos or photos during your experience. You may even post these to your favorite social media. Don't forget to tag Downtown Escape Rooms when you do. The only thing we ask is that you help us protect the secrets of our escape rooms. If you are observed deliberately filming a certain puzzle, our staff may ask you to stop. If you continue after having been warned, you may be asked to leave and you will not receive a refund. If you get word that Aliens have landed via your phone, please exit the building safely and take your game master with you. No seriously we want our rooms to be amazing for everyone, so just don't share the secretes and puzzles of our rooms and ruin things for the next person.
What if I arrive late?
To accommodate all our guests your prompt arrival is important. Please plan to arrive at least 10-15 minutes before your scheduled time to allow for checking in and your briefing session. If you are running late please contact us as soon as possible to discuss your options. You may be required to reschedule your room for another time.
